ELMHURST TROJANS WIN STATE

This was a first State Championship for the Class 3A Lady Trojans. Elmhurst’s 62-59 victory over Owen Valley on Saturday March 7 was a great victory for the Trojans as well as for all the coaches and players that have been so close in the past.

Redding, who is also a graduate of Elmhurst, has been a coach at his Alma Mata for twenty years.

Owen Valley tied the score at 54 all with 3 minutes left. The Trojans then went on an 8-0 run, lead by Rosie Lewis’ six points to open a 62-54 lead. The Trojans return four starters for next year’s team.
