LILLY SPONSORS ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATIONS MEMORY WALK® 2007

The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memory Walk® will take place on Saturday, September 8th at Foster Park, Pavilion 1 & 2, 3900 Old Mill Road, Fort Wayne. Participants at this year’s event will move to end Alzheimer’s and raise awareness and funds to fight the disease. Individuals are invited to join Memory Walk and help the Alzheimer’s Association move toward their mission of one day living in a world without Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk, nationally presented by Genworth Financial, is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research programs. Held annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls on volunteers of all ages to become Champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Champions include those living with the disease, families, caregivers, and corporate and community leaders. Americans who have participated in these walks have raised more than $200 million.

Registration for the walk will begin at 11 a.m. and the walk will begin at noon. Shuttle service will be available from Quimby Village & Taylor University Parking Lots. Participants can choose between a 1 and 3 mile route for the walk. Lunch will be served and, participants will be entertained by “Elvis” impersonator Brent Cooper and children can have their faces painted by clowns. Dogs will receive free doggie bandanas and will be refreshed along the route at doggie water stations.

The Statewide Presenting Sponsor for Memory Walk is Lilly. Major sponsors of the Fort Wayne Memory Walk are American Senior Communities and Romary Financial Services.
