ELMER S. DAWALD, 83

ELMER S. DAWALD, 83, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital. Born June 17, 1923 in Peru, he was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving in Brazil with the (Blimp & Dirigible Service) Lighter than Air Corps. in Patrol & Rescue. A Fort Wayne resident most of his life, he retired in 1988 from Hydro Systems, Inc. and was a member of Waynedale Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Madlyn M. Dawald; daughter, Deanna (Daniel) Wielhouwer of Pompano Beach, Florida; son, Jeffery W. (Darla) Dawald of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren, Dan (Christa) Wielhouwer of Orlando and David Wielhouwer of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Funeral Service was Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.

The family’s preferred memorial is Waynedale Baptist Church.
