THAT’S THE WAY I SAW IT
SURVEY’S AREN’T TOO REALISTIC
I never pay too much attention to surveys. I believe they can be rigged by having them taken within a certain region of the country or at a certain time. A very good example of that was published in the USA Today Baseball Weekly in July 2002.
The results of a survey of 2,004 respondents conducted on baseballweekly.com during the week of July 15, 2002.
Some answers to questions were amazing and I guess by baseball fans.
Question: What is the most important issue to be addressed in labor negotiations? Salary Cap 37.2%, Competitive balance 27.6%, Revenue sharing, 27.3%, Steroid use/drug testing 4.4% and Contraction 3.4%.
Do you think Bud Selig should remain as commissioner? No 85.9%.
Who should be commissioner? Bob Costas 26.4%, Rudy Giuliani 25%, Cal Ripken 23.4%, Jim McCain 9.6%, Bud Selig 5.0%, Paul White (Editor of USA Today Baseball Weekly) 4.0% and other 6.6%.
Remember this survey was taken after the Tuesday, July 9, 2002 All-Star Game that ended as a 7-7 tie.
I rest my case?
Surveys aren’t always too realistic and…
