SCOTT’S MUCH NEEDED RENOVATION FINALLY UNDERWAY

Scott’s Food & Pharmacy announced that it would be investing $3.6 million in the complete remodeling of its Waynedale store at 7007 Bluffton Road.
Construction is beginning immediately and is expected to be finished in late spring of 2006. The change is dramatic. With the exception of the four existing exterior walls, everything about the store will be brand new, including ceiling tiles, interior lighting, flooring, refrigerated and frozen food cases, checkout lanes, the parking lot, exterior lighting – even the front design of the building.
“This is something we felt the people of Waynedale deserved,” said Dick Bergman, President and COO of Scott’s. “In essence, we’re building an entirely new store. We just ask that the good people of Waynedale be patient with us through the construction process because when it’s finished they’re going to have a spectacular new store.”
During Bergman’s two-year tenure, Scott’s has spent $6.8 million to renovate 11 of its 18 stores, not including the new Bluffton Road location. “This will be my state-of-the-art store,” said Bergman, “since I’m doing it from scratch.”
Upon completion of the renovation the store will add approximately 80 jobs. Additional renovations are planned for Scott’s stores in Angola, Auburn and Columbia City.
