Saturday, January 22, 2005 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Ceremony at 2:00 p.m.
The public is invited to visit the newly renovated and expanded Waynedale Branch Library this coming Saturday afternoon. Allen County Library Director Jeffrey Krull and Alan McMahan, President of the Library Board of Trustees, along with Waynedale Branch Manager, Don Fisher will have opening remarks during the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.
The Waynedale Branch renovation and expansion is part of the $84 million Allen County Public Library expansion project approved by the voters of Allen County in 2001. Local architectural firm, Kelty Tappy, was responsible for the building design, with R.E. Crosby serving as the contractor. The building has been completely renovated creating a seamless integration between it and the new addition of over 4,000 square feet.
Now the Waynedale Branch has 13,991 square feet of usable space. The entry has been redesigned and is located on the North side of the building, along with an expanded parking area. The distinctive design includes a redesigned circulation desk, a new public meeting room, much more room for books, magazines and media materials, and is handicap accessible.
Please join us for our afternoon celebration at the Waynedale Branch, Allen County Public Library.
