WAYNEDALE’S SOUTHWEST FIRE DISTRICT – STATION NO. 5 COMFORTS CHILDREN DURING EMERGENCIES
On December 14, STAR Financial Bank’s Region President Tom Blume, along with Waynedale’s Office Bank Representative Claudia Casiano presented 90 stuffed teddy bears to Southwest Fire Department Chief Don Patnoude as part of the bank’s “Bears for Badges” campaign.
Bank-wide, STAR has collected over 3,000 bears and other stuffed toys, which were delivered to fire and police stations throughout northeastern Indiana.
The “Bears for Badges” program allowed STAR customers and employees to donate stuffed teddy bears, which were collected at 40 banking locations and presented to local police and fire departments throughout the area. The stuffed bears provide comfort to children who are victims of fires, accidents, and other stressful emergency situations.
STAR has presented the program for the past three years, during which time over 7,000 bears have been collected.
