Waynedale Political Commentaries

MAYOR GRAHAM RICHARD

It is time again for my annual Report to the People speeches, which will be held at various locations throughout the City. The meetings allow me to update you on the progress our City has made in the past year and outline my administration’s goals for 2004. Report to the People also gives you the opportunity to share your ideas and concerns with me, as well as ask any questions about City government.

Each of the five Reports to the People will focus on a specific topic. These include economic development, community development, infrastructure, quality of life and parks and recreation in Fort Wayne. In each presentation I will announce new plans or projects related to the specific topic.

I look forward to sharing my vision for quality jobs, a safer city, improved city services and continued fiscal responsibility in tough economic times. Most importantly, I look forward to hearing from you, our residents. For our community to make progress in the coming years we must work together.

Here is the Report to the People schedule:

8 a.m., Tuesday, February 3 at the Chamber of Commerce, 826 Ewing Street. The focus is economic development.

6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 11 at the League for the Blind and Disabled, 5821 South Anthony Boulevard. The focus is community development and the Southtown Mall project.

6:30 p.m., Thursday, February 12 at IPFW Walb Memorial Ballroom, 2101 East Coliseum Boulevard. The focus is infrastructure improvements.

7 p.m., Wednesday, February 18 at Study Elementary School, 2414 Brooklyn Avenue. The focus is quality of life in Fort Wayne.

6:30 p.m., Thursday, February 19 at Northwood Middle School. The focus is parks and recreation.

I hope you will find the time to attend one or more of my Report to the People presentations. I look forward to hearing your ideas on how to continue improving the City of Fort Wayne.
