WAYNEDALE WOODS AND WATERS—OUR GREAT OUTDOORS

For those of you who enjoy the outdoors, I just found out the Patron Saint of Hunters is Saint Hubert and the Patron Saint of Fishermen is Saint Andrew. I’m not Catholic, just a curious Methodist. I’ve also discovered that there are over 4000 Patron Saints of Something or Other out there. Check them all out online at JEEVES.COM. Jeeves will also answer most any question you may have or take you to where you may find the answer. I’ve looked up things like Wild Edible foods, wild game recipes, and camping trailers. Each time it gave me information that helped me search for what I was looking for. If you have any questions at all on the outdoors, here’s the spot to go to.

Point of information: After November 3rd all camping spots in Indiana State Parks are on a first-come, first-served basis. You cannot make reservations. Check at sdishong@spherix.com or at IDNR for other information. Also electricity at Salamonie Reservoir Lost Bridge West campground will be available until the second week of deer season: 1st week is from November 15 until November 22 and the 2nd week is from November 23rd to November 30. I’m not sure when they turn the water faucets off in our state parks but at Salamonie they leave one faucet turned on in the youth campground so there is water available. Otherwise you might want to take your water with you if you go camping. Try the Internet to see if water is available at your favorite camping spot. Get out now and go camping, or go sightseeing before all the beautiful leaves are gone.

THINGS I’VE FOUND ALONG THE WAY WHEN I WAS LOOKING FOR OTHER THINGS

If you want your children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.

Saving is a very fine thing, especially when our parents have done it for you-Winston Churchill

Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.

A successful marriage depends on two things: Finding the right person and being the right person-Benjamin Franklin

It’s evil to force a man to pay for a political cause he opposes-Thomas Jefferson

JUST WONDERING

Why do we have to pay the State of Indiana $25 for a permit to carry a handgun? That right is already guaranteed to us ‘FREE’ by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America?
