VINCENT J. BACKS BECOMES MEMBER
OF FORT WAYNE COMMUNITY BOARD OF SALIN BANK AND TRUST COMPANY
Vincent J. (Vince) Backs, Senior Partner and Member of the Executive Committee of the law firm of Beers Mallers Backs & Salin, LLP, civic and business leader, has been named to the Fort Wayne Community Board of Salin Bank and Trust Company, Chairman William N. Salin announced.
Salin Bank, one of the top ten state chartered banks in Indiana, has a strong community banking focus. In addition to designating a Community President in each of the markets the Bank serves, the Bank invites a group of prominent community leaders to serve on a Community Board, to further assure that the Bank focuses on community needs and is in touch with its customer base.
“I am pleased to welcome Vince Backs to our Fort Wayne Community Board,” Salin said. “He has been a respected colleague and a trusted friend ever since I returned to Fort Wayne and the practice of law, after serving as Indiana’s Secretary of State, over 30 years ago. We will benefit not only from his knowledge and insight, but from his lifelong devotion to greater Fort Wayne.”
Mr. Backs is a member of the Allen County and Indiana Bar Associations, is an Associate of the Trial Lawyers of America, and is a presentor for Indiana Continuing Legal Education. In addition to his senior role with his law firm, Mr. Backs is Chairman of Truck Engineering Ltd., LLC. He is also a current member of the Board of Directors of Branstrator Corporation; Cole Hardwood, Inc.; Indiana Dimensions, Inc., and D. O. McComb & Sons, Inc.
Among his many civic activities, Mr. Backs is a Member of the President’s Committee of Concordia Theological Seminary of Fort Wayne; President of Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church; and a Member of the Board of Directors of Northeast Indiana Radio Reading Services, a radio station serving the blind. He has previously served as a Member of the Board of Fort Wayne Civic Theater; was a co-founder and President of Fort Wayne Federal Savings and Loan Association; and a Board Member of Lutheran Social Services of Indiana.
Mr. Backs is a graduate of Indiana University, where he received his BA in 1962, and a JD in 1965.
