Jamie Gieschen has been awarded three scholarships from VU. She has received the Martin Luther Award, the Lutheran Heritage Award, and the Lutheran High School Award. The Martin Luther Award is a $4,500 grant awarded to sons and daughters of full-time professional Lutheran church workers. The Lutheran Heritage Scholarship is a $1,000 grant awarded to high school students who are active members of a Lutheran church congregation. The Lutheran High School Award is a $1,000 grant awarded to graduates of Lutheran High Schools. All are renewable for three additional years if appropriate academic standards are maintained.
Jamie Gieschen is currently a student at Concordia Lutheran High School where she is a peer minister and president of A Cappella Choir. She is also a recipient of the President’s Outstanding Achievement Award for Academics. Jamie will be enrolling in the College of Arts and Sciences at VU in the Fall 2002 semester. She is the daughter of Leann and Christopher Gieschen of Fort Wayne.
