SMOKE ON THE WIND
I remember hearing a song that says: “I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.”‑ That part of the song is pretty hard to swallow.‑ Excuse me.‑ I should say, hard to listen to, when so much rain fell upon residents in the Hoosier State, and now they are told to forget about ANY federal aid and to continue to pay for a home they cannot inhabit.
There is another part of this same song that says: “I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows.”‑ Well, folks, I hope and pray that those candles are glowing in the churches,‑that‑prayers are being said for these victims, and‑that the collection plates are over-flowing to help those in need.‑ Prayer is powerful and can bring about change.‑ Let us join together and send Smoke on the Wind – our prayers going out into the world to touch the hearts and minds of those‑who are not thinking too clearly; that their hearts beat more compassionately, and that the candles glow bright to illuminate a garden free of so many weeds – a garden where flowers will grow.
