LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor:
On Saturday, May 8th, rural and city carriers of the U. S. Postal Service and their volunteers collected 359,000 pounds of food during its national food drive. Food was collected in all 50 states with the above collection from Allen, DeKalb, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties.
A thank you from me does not seem adequate to express the appreciation we carriers and the food banks feel for the friends and neighbors who donated food. We are continually amazed at the generosity of our communities.
I would like to thank the United Way and the Associated Churches, Kroger-our local sponsor, our many volunteers-the labor unions, churches, schools, scouts, and just plain folk for their help.
The good news. Our food banks have food again. If you are in need of assistance please contact your local food bank.
Thank you,
Judy Kruspig
