USF SENIOR HITTER EARNS MCC VOLLEYBALL HONOR
For a middle blocker, University of Saint Francis senior Shellie Rumschlag had quite a week hitting last week and has been named Mid-Central College Conference hitter and player of the week.
In five matches for the Lady Cougars last week, Rumschlag (Fort Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers H.S.) had a .504 attack percentage, finished with 65 kills averaging 4.06. A 6-foot-2 senior, Rumschlag registered double-figure kills in all five matches for the week with a high of 17 twice including the match against 14th-ranked Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, IL) on Saturday morning in the Best of the Best Challenge at USF.
This is the third time during Rumschlag’s four-year career that she has been selected MCC Player of the Week, the first time since 2007.
