RICH’S CAFE – THE FRIENDLY FOODIE
For quite some time now I have heard friends and family talk about Rich’s Café and I am glad that I finally got the opportunity to experience the restaurant for myself firsthand. As a Fort Wayne native from the south end of town- it has taken me long enough! The wait was well worth it.
Rich’s Café, has been owned by Gary Friedrich and Krista Ross since 2007. The restaurant has been through many changes over the years but the people of Waynedale consistently find it a favorite place to eat.
It is a wonderful place to go for breakfast any time of the day. Although I personally did not order any breakfast items from the menu, the choices were extensive. I chose to go a different route and order an 8oz. sirloin steak ($8.99). This dish comes complete with a potato of your choice, one side, and a dinner roll. I also sampled a fresh house salad and the club sandwich. The salad was incredibly fresh and the club sandwich was a generous size with plenty left over to take home for lunch the next day.
I will admit that my favorite part of the meal was the final course, dessert! Rich’s boasts a plentiful array of choices for pie lovers. I decided on the chocolate pie, and was not disappointed.
Overall, the prices were very reasonable, the service was excellent, and the food was warm and delicious. If you want a dining experience that is comfortable, welcoming and offers friendly service, Rich’s Café is the place for you. Rich’s Café comes highly recommended to you as a fantastic dining location nestled comfortably on Lower Huntington Road in Waynedale. Stop in some time and have a taste yourself.
