Friday, August 13, 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. “Perseid Meteor Shower Hike and Viewing.” Meet at Arrowhead Prairie on the west side of Aboite Road just off of Redding Drive, Fort Wayne. We’ll talk about meteors, constellations and night senses and then relax while we search the skies for streaks of light. Fort Wayne Astronomical Society will bring out telescopes and high-powered binoculars for close-up viewing. Sponsored by Little River Wetlands Project. Free.
Saturday, August 21, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. “Phragmites Removal.” Meet at the Eagle Marsh barn, 6801 Engle Road, Fort Wayne. Come learn to identify and eradicate this dangerous invasive plant.
