SERVICE GROUP WORKING TO IMPROVE WAYNEDALE

(L-R) Roger Reese (Associated Churches), Jim Springer (Waynedale Lions Club), Betty Stewart (Elks Club), Wayne Stewart (Elks Club), Lynn Henschen (Waynedale Lions Club), Steve Staley (Associated Churches). On April 16, with empty food shelves surrounding the ceremony, the Waynedale Lions Club and Fort Wayne Order of Elks presented a check for $2,000 to the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County. The much needed gift not only assists the 35,000 families Associated Churches supplies food to each year, but also serves to show service club partnership in the Fort Wayne area. The collaboration came at one of the best times of the year, as there was a low food contribution rate over the winter.

The Waynedale Lions Club is a service group working to improve Waynedale and the surrounding area. This historic club has been volunteering their talents and helping people in the community for generations. We encourage you to become a Lion! It only takes a few hours every month to truly reach out and volunteer your time to change a life. If you would like to learn more about working with the Lions Club or becoming a member, please stop by my office at 2505 Lower Huntington Road in Waynedale or call (260) 747-4535 and ask for Alex.
