PURSUIT OF MY PASSION… DANCE!

Shekina-DanceSo you ask what is dancing? My business philosophy: dancing is a positive, morality movement and movement is a language, which communicates ideas, thoughts and feelings.

Please welcome Shekinah Dance Academy located at 5905 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809, (260) 348-7586. Shekinah Dance Academy is a faith-based alternative of dance techniques without compromising lyrics or movements. We offer dance classes for all ages (age 3 to adults). We promote individual creativity in a respectful atmosphere through the art of dance. Dance routines are taught in progressive steps so students will be able to perform in the recital at the conclusion of the program.

Do you want to strive in positive, structured environment? Shekinah Dance studio is a place for individual creativity in a safe space where music and movement come together.

I am Latissha Williams, the founder and owner of Shekinah Dance Academy. I am a native of Chicago (the Windy City). At the age of 5, I began my dance, gymnastic training and synchronized swimming in Chicago, Illinois. That training led to choreography and performances in events and showcases throughout Chicago with three of my younger sisters and close friends.

In 1996, I relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana to be closer to my immediate family. In 1998, I opened Shekinah Dance Academy to pass on my soulful, tender love of dance. I understand that dance unlocks hidden talents, gifts, and untapped potential and creates an atmosphere of fascination, creativity and imagination, which creates a rewarding and fulfilling experience! I have instructed in dance studios in Fort Wayne, Decatur and Leo.

Below are just a few of my showcases:
*UPAF (Unity Performing Arts Foundation) Arts Academy (2014)

*An Affair Extraordinaire Cotillion (Grand Wayne Center – March 2009, 2011 and 2013)

*Just Us Girls Getaway (Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel – April 2010)

*Ladies of SocieTea, LLC (Chamber of Commerce – September 2009)

*Beauty Instead of Ashes–Mentoring Moms (Blackhawk Ministries – October 2008)

*Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Celebration (Taylor University Upland – 2003)
Shekinah Dance Academy Mission Statement: To instill seeds of virtue through dance. Allow the students to see that dance is an exhilarating activity that will nourish them.

My mother, Martha Williams, is still my number one supporter and encourager. Momma always says “Keep your dream alive and don’t let it die.” I have a praying close-knit family and we love each other very much. I have 6 siblings (4 sisters and 2 brothers). Thanks to all my personal and business supporters for your continued prayers and helping bring my dream to life. Special thanks to Jw Signs and Ed Romary.

Help me spread the word that dancing is a fun and exciting way to spend time. Don’t be afraid to dream your dreams through dance!
