CURVES KNOWS NO LIMITS!
If you were driving down Bluffton Road Thursday night around 5:30 p.m. you may have seen something that caused you to do a double take. 25 members of Curves, led by owner Mary Stark, were celebrating “National Not for Sissies Day” by doing Zumba in the parking lot. The energy was high as the ladies took to the street to exercise and with each car that honked their horn, a resounding cheer erupted.
Member Nancy Woosley attends Zumba classes every week at Curves located at 5909 Bluffton Road. She says “It was a really fun class. Everyone enjoyed exercising outside; it was entertaining seeing the reaction of the people driving past.”
The name of the group was a “flash mob” according to Mary Stark who has owned Curves for six years. Mary provided colorful sunglasses and visors which added to the merriment. “We have over 300 members who range in age from 12 years old to 85 years old.” Mary became certified as a Zumba instructor one year ago and offers two evening classes and one more sedate daytime Zumba class.
