COME ENJOY PICNIC-IN-THE-PARK

Making a big splash and cooling off is Rachel Aguilar and children Natalie, Connor, Dawson and Katelyn. Temperatures reached a high of 90 degrees at the newly remodeled Splash Pad in the Waynedale Park. Our Waynedale Community is gearing up for its 9th annual Picnic-in-the-Park. This will take place at the Waynedale Park which is located at Elzey and Koon Street, south off Lower Huntington Road.

The Waynedale Picnic will be held on Saturday, August 27, starting at 10 am to 3 pm with children’s games ending at 2 pm. We will have entertainment and DJ music for all, with 9 children’s games for 0-13 year old kids—Craft table for kids and Bingo for adults. There will be free hot dogs, pizza and drinks along with some other donated snacks for everyone. Balloon makers, moonwalk, rock wall and sticky wall for the children.

Door prizes given away throughout the day for everyone.

BE SURE TO SIGN UP when you enter the park by the pavilion. So look for the signup tent to be eligible for the pizza, food tent and door prizes.
The Waynedale Picnic is a well-collaborated effort among many businesses, some neighborhood associations and the many friends of Waynedale.

All donations collected, go directly into supporting next year’s picnic.
A “Booth” may be a great way to advertise your company or organization, but remember NO soliciting. A donation for the booth is required but we have over 1300 people that show up at this great event. Many of our donors are giving year after year and some are new this year. The supporters and donors are listed on our large “Sponsor’s Board” posted at the pavilion for all to see.

The fund raising events, like the Nelson’s Chicken by VFW #1421 Men’s Auxiliary, have helped us greatly!

And without the many donors we could not make this great picnic happen.

There are many volunteers that are the backbone and we appreciate them greatly. We always need more volunteers each year to help from 2 to 4 hours or longer. If interested come to our volunteer’s meeting on August 15 at 6:30 pm at the Waynedale Library/Lower Huntington Road (if unable to attend just call and sign up).

We hope that everyone will come and enjoy this “old fashioned” picnic in the park. The picnic is our way to support our families and children of the Waynedale area in these hard times and bring a smile to those faces.
