OETTINGS CELEBRATE 58TH ANNIVERSARY
Waynedale couple, Walter C. Oetting and Lois M. (Lynch) Oetting, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2011. Walter (born in Fort Wayne, Indiana) and Lois (born in Corydon, Indiana) met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend just shortly after Walter was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army in 1952.
After they were married on June 28, 1953 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church they welcomed two sons: Michael Oetting of Ossian and Alan Oetting of Fort Wayne. They also have four loving grandchildren.
Walter is retired from Navistar and Lois from General Electric. Walter enjoys spending his time working on small engines in his garage and landscaping his lawn. Lois takes pride in keeping her ever-changing flower garden beautiful and spending time in the kitchen preparing delicious treats for the family.
