THE GREEN ABC’S WINS GREATER FORT WAYNE BUSINESS WEEKLY INNOVATION AWARD

2010 has been a great year for the Green ABC’s so far.  The ball started rolling in January of this year when the Green ABC’s won an Entrepreneurial Award from the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center which gave us the boost we needed to bring the Green ABC’s to fruition.

Our partnership with the Antis Career Center, and teachers like Karen Gillie and Nikkie Craig jump started the process of illustrating the Green ABC’s and getting students involved in developing games, web sites and the graphic designs for the Green ABC’s Flash Card System.

Then in June of 2010 we won a 2010 Green Innovators Award from the Northeast Indiana Green Builders Coalition highlighting our work with the young people in our region.

Summer brought Sommer Braun, an intern at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center who worked with us to develop the Green ABC’s Coloring Book-which helped to bring more characters to the Green ABC’s line-up and further illustrate the Green ABC’s concept and terms.

Then on August 26th, the Green ABC’s president, Christopher Langschied, was notified that the Green ABC’s, created by April Brewster Smythe, has won the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly Innovation Award in the Retail Category.

This award places us in the running to win the Innovator of the Year Award and also gives the Green ABC’s a larger platform in which to broadcast its availability to kids – of all ages.

So, here we are ready to help kids learn about the Green ABC’s and have fun at the same time.

If you, your school, PTA or parents club, church, or neighborhood association want to learn more about the Green ABC’s check out the site designed by Anthis Career student Justin Neeley and write to April Brewster Smythe at aprilsmythe@gmail.com or call 241-5535.   We would be glad to offer a free consultation to your organization.
