CHARLES L. KIRKWOOD, 62
CHARLES L. KIRKWOOD, 62 of Fort Wayne passed away May 12, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born May 4, 1948 in Bluffton, Indiana. Mr. Kirkwood was a client of Easter Seals ARC starting on Thompson Avenue on May 14, 1966 and played a part in helping with the ground breaking for the North campus.
He liked to bowl and loved Elvis Presley and music.
He is survived by his sisters, Rosalee (Tom) Hockenberry, Kay (companion John Nunley) Leslie and Shirley (Mark) Elliott all of Fort Wayne; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends and his second family at Easter Seals ARC.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mabelene (Gallimore) Poiry; father, Paul Kirkwood; sister, Sharon Fisher and stepfather, Paul Poiry.
Funeral service was 10:30am, Monday, May 17, 2010 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation was 2-4 and 6-8 Sunday, May 16 at the funeral home.
Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Easter Seals ARC.
