TOOTH FAIRY ISLAND

Part Two (of two)

From her castle, Regina is in charge. She has a machine in the castle that tells her whether a little boy or girl has lost a tooth. Her machine tells where the children live. Her job is to immediately call on a tooth fairy to fly to the home of the boy or girl who has lost a tooth.

Since she knows whereabouts of all her fairies, she calls on them when needed. When tooth fairies get a call from Regina, they stop playing and go immediately to the castle to get their assignments. She tells them exactly where to go. Once they arrive, they must take a tooth and put a coin or coins where the missing tooth was. Sometimes the coin is very heavy. If it’s too heavy, a fairy can ask for another fairy to help. Regina always grants their wishes. Boy fairies take coins to little boys and girl fairies take coins to little girls. Once they are ready, off they fly to some other little boy or girl’s home.

Once at the house, fairies are not allowed to enter until the child is asleep. Then they flit to where the child is sleeping. Going through the doors and windows is no problem for them. At night because they glow in the dark, they can see where they are going. If the little boy or girl wakes up, they turn off their blue light. Sometimes they don’t turn their blue light off fast enough and the little sleepy boy or girl actually sees the fairy for just a few seconds.

There are many times when things just don’t go right. One time a little boy sneezed when the tooth fairy was putting the coins in place. He blew the tooth fairy right off the pillow onto the floor! Another time the tooth of a little girl slid onto the floor. The tooth fairy had a terrible time finding it. In fact, finding teeth is one big problem for fairies. Sometimes they are inside the pillow or under the bed and sometimes they have to come back because the little boy or girl didn’t put them by their pillow. Regina is always available in case of a problem.

What makes fairies laugh is when children lose their teeth! One time a little boy tied his loose tooth with a string and attached the string to a door handle and then slammed the door. It didn’t work so he tried again. This time it came out and he shouted with glee even though it hurt a little bit. Another time a little girl started wiggling her tooth. She wiggled it and wiggled it with her tongue and finger and finally it came out. It bled a little but the little girl could only think of the tooth fairy and what she would bring.

Sometimes children lose their teeth in a sandwich or down a toilet. One boy swallowed his tooth! The tooth fairy had to contact Regina to find out what to do. Regina told him to put a coin in the pillow anyway.

Once in a while, a tooth fairy is not able to get into a house. That’s because Regina got her messages mixed up. The next night the tooth fairy made it into the house and placed a coin where the loose tooth was. The tooth fairies are told to bring the teeth back to Regina were she makes new teeth to take place of lost ones.

So, next time you lose a tooth and place it on a pillow for the tooth fairy, remember that Regina knows who you are and will send a tooth fairy to you. Only don’t wake up or the mystical being will turn off its blue light so you can’t see it. But they’re bringing you a little happiness when you wake up.
