WAYNEDALE PARK DEDICATAED 1949
The story of the Waynedale Park dedication ran in the News Sentinel in 1949. Now 59 years later the Waynedale Memorial Park is still being utilized by the Waynedale Community. A little sunshine mixed with the new splash park is a formula for summer fun. The park improvements were made possible by Councilmen Shoaf and Talarico; former Councilmen Hayhurst and Crawford and park department’s Steve McDaniel.
Some of the Waynedale residents eating hot dogs in 1949 were Evyline and Millie Ferguson, Lester Umber, Harry Monn, James Mason, Charlie Churchward and Jim or Ed Noble.
