KNOWING AND FEELING

Dear God,

This is Kelley

There were no dramatic realizations yesterday. I didn’t see a burning bush, nor hear You call my name in the middle of the night. But I did feel loved by You. The knowledge of Your love is so deeply ingrained, it does inform my feelings, especially when those feelings are down or doubtful.

It was in the knowing, yesterday, that I stood firm. But You, Lord, respect both and speak through both, our thinking and our feeling. You know that we long for both to be in agreement and feeding off one another. You know, too, that feeling must be fed just as much as our thinking must be fed. We must nurture both. We must respect both. We must listen to both

It is when our thinking and our feeling are not in agreement that flashes a warning sign for us. Something is amiss and we are smart to pay attention to it. We are smart to ask why our feelings are off in one direction and our thinking in another. We head in a wrong direction if we simply dismiss the one in favor of the other. Our true task is to bring them back into agreement.

Thank You, Lord, for my mind and for my heart. Both are powerful. Both are necessary. Both are paths to You and to the discovery of Your immense and complex creation. Praise You, Lord!
