NEW PARK COMMISSIONER NAMED
Becker joins Park Board for four-year term
Cheri Becker, executive director of Invent Tomorrow, Inc. was named by Mayor Tom Henry to the Board of Park Commissioners and will begin her four-year term this month.
“The Mayor’s appointment of Cheri to the Park Board is a selection of quality and commitment,” said Al Moll, Director of Parks and Recreation. “Cheri’s vast experience in the business and non-profit worlds will be a huge asset to the board. And as a bonus for our department — she also brings a creative mind to this important role.”
Ms. Becker has a long history of community service and currently serves as the Board President for the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, on the Board of Trustees at Indiana Tech, as a Board Member of the Indiana High Speed Rail Initiative and on the Steering Committee for the YWCA Circle of Women.
In addition to her community service, Ms. Becker is an alumna of Indiana Tech, Leadership Fort Wayne, the International Center for Creative Leadership and the Ball State Economic Development Academy.
