THAT’S THE WAY I SAW IT

WINNING THE WORLD SERIES IS NOT THAT GREAT

The Boston Red Sox, a very good team, won the World Series in four games. Some experts predicted it would take seven. Most players want to be appreciated, well paid and play on a winning team. However, there is some talk that one of the Red Sox players may be moving on to greener pastures. Greener pastures meaning more money.

Many old time baseball fans remember Ernie Banks—19 years with the same team, the Chicago Cubs. Never a World Series winner but elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977. National League MVP in 1958 and 1959, you don’t see loyalty in Major League players that was demonstrated years ago, and that’s the way many fans see it now.
