MIAMI MIDDLE SCHOOL REMEMBERS PRINCIPAL CRAIG
Miami Middle School students and staff and Fort Wayne Community Schools officials will remember the former principal of the school with a tree planting ceremony at 2 p.m., Friday, October 12.
Janice Craig was 51 and the Miami principal when she died just before the beginning of the 2005-06 school year. She started with the district in 1973 as an instructional assistant at Weisser Park Elementary School. In 1990, she became a teacher at Pleasant Center Elementary School and later taught at Bunche Elementary. In 1998, she became the principal of Harris Elementary, and in 2001, she moved to principal of Miami.
Janice was a dedicated educator, always striving to better herself so she could do more to help students. She loved children and wanted them to have the best education possible.
On Friday, a memorial tree will be planted at Miami Middle School, 8100 Amherst Drive, to forever remember her contributions and commitment to students and FWCS.
