DILLARD TURNS 104
Dillard Wilcox was born on May 14, 1903 in Graham County, North Carolina to Isaac and Eliza Dean Wilcox. He was the oldest of 8 children and first moved to Georgia where he picked cotton until the weevils took over. He moved to Indiana when he was 30 years old and worked on a diary farm for two dollars a day.
He served in the army and celebrated his 40th birthday while in Germany. Dillard said he once owned a car, but it got stuck in a ditch. He left it there and never owned another. He walked or hitch hiked wherever he went.
Dillard can be found at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center, on Engle Road, where he enjoys the company of people stopping by. He still likes relating a good story to anyone that is interested.
