TRIBUTE TO GEORGE KOLLIOPOULOS
George came to America from Tripoleos, Greece in 1979. He had the American dream, to create his own business. He, along with his partner Mario Alvarado, accomplished this by establishing the Renaissance Restaurant at 1033 Tillman Road near the new Southtown Center.
George passed away on February 26, 2006. There was a memorial service in Chicago and his body was then flown back to Vlahena, Tripoleos, Greece, to rest in the lush green parks at the base of mountains. We-your Renaissance family, will miss your wit, your wisdom and your humor.
