WAYNEDALE ELEMENTARY SAYS THANK YOU TO OUR EVERYDAY HEROES
Giving to soldiers away from home these Waynedale Elementary students are sending 400 handcrafted ornaments to Iraq.
Remembering not only the veterans who have long since passed on, but also the ones who continue to serve and are currently defending our nation and our values a Veterans Day Assembly was held on Thursday, November 10, 2005 honoring all veterans.
The Pledge of Allegiance began the program with the advanced recorders and the chorus playing and singing tunes about our everyday heroes. Principal Kent Martz, students, and Mrs. Tonya Harmeyer presented the ornaments made for the marines. The marines stationed in Iraq includes Nicholas and Lucas Harmeyer’s dad, Robert from the Belle Vista area. He is with the US Marine Corp Reserve, Detachment/Communications Company based at Grissom Air Force Base. Mrs. Harmeyer, Nicholas and Lucas are also sending over 7 Christmas trees.
