WAYNEDALE’S POSTAL TEAM MEMBER CONTRIBUTES TO RAISING $3,252
The pink ribbon lapel pin has become a powerful symbol to increase awareness about breast cancer.‑ On Saturday, October 11, 2003 plenty of those pins were to be seen at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Kim Wroblewski, a Waynedale Postal Team Member collected funds from family, friends, and fellow postal employees and walked “The Walk” to Headwaters Park. Making Strides is a non-competitive walk designed to raise awareness, foster camaraderie, and raise funds for breast cancer research, patient services, education, and advocacy.
Rather than have two separate teams, this year they combined forces from the Fort Wayne Post Office and Remote Encoding Center for a total contribution of $3,252.‑ The following from the Fort Wayne Post Office raised $1,528 towards their team total: Gayle‑‑ Belcher, Debbie Jessup, Becky‑‑ Cox, Becky‑‑ Mertens, Maggie‑Curtis, Dawn‑‑ Partridge, Carolyn Dennis, Rose‑‑‑ Spaw, Jan‑‑‑‑‑ Gabriel, Lori‑‑‑‑‑ Thomas, Diana‑‑ Gardner, Tracye Trent-Cashdollar, Karen‑‑ Gillig, Dave‑‑‑ Hess, and Waynedale’s Kim Wroblewski.
