HELEN ILO JACKSON SCHMELING, 80
Helen Ilo Jackson Schmeling, 80, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Woodview Health Care Center. She was a homemaker, a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, and a “Servant of the Lord”. Her husband was Elmer C. Schmeling.
She is survived by daughters Marnell L. Bode, Pineville; Mary L. Springer, Ossian, IN; sons Fred Schmeling, Fort Wayne; Jack Schmeling, Fort Wayne; Jerry Schmeling, Fort Wayne; brother James S. Jackson, Bluffton; 10 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Winchester Road Chapel, with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church or Lutheran Bible Translators.
