WAYNEDALE NEWS GETS FIBER
We were all plugged up.
It seemed to take longer than necessary to accomplish any kind of a file dump. So, The Waynedale News did what a lot of businesses are thinking about doing, we got fiber.
The Waynedale News operates utilizing five computers, an Apple G-5, G-4, iMac, an iBook and one Hewett Packard. We first covered Fiber to the Premises one year ago in the April 6, 2005 issue of The Waynedale News. You hear about “Fiber Optic Service” or FiOS anytime someone talks of transporting information for TV, telephone or computers. It is the fastest, most accurate means of sending a signal from one place to another. Known as “Fiber To The Premises” or FTTP, the new fiber optic network uses hair-thin strands of fiber and optical electronics to directly link homes and businesses.
Verizon began building its FTTP network in parts of California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
The FTTP initiative represents a natural extension of the more than 10 million miles of fiber optic cable Verizon already has in place and extends the high capacity, speed and quality of fiber directly to the customer’s door step.
So, if you’re having a hard time making a dump, fiber may be the answer!
