ST. ALOYSIUS DAY OF GIVING

St. Aloysius Catholic School, Yoder, participated in the Many Gifts, One Nation: A Day of Giving to Catholic School campaign. The campaign is coordinated through the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA). The Day of Giving was a 24-hour period beginning January 30 at 9 a.m. and lasting through January 31 at 9 a.m. Donations were accepted online at saintaloysiusyoder.giving.factsmgt.com. St. Aloysius’ goal was to raise $30,000.

“We work together forming saints and scholars in Christ,” said St. Aloysius Principal Tina Voors. “There is a great calling in this vocation of education to cooperate with God’s plan to form each child spiritually and academically.”

“This formation takes time and financial resources,” she added. “Funds donated help provide new technology that will not only help our teachers better serve each and every student in the classroom, but will also improve the safety of our school by installing new tools and equipment. A safe environment, the right tools and gifted dedicated teachers are blessings God has given to us in service of our students and their families.”

Twenty years ago, St. Pope John Paul II said to an audience of Catholic educators in New Orleans: “Yours is a great gift to the Church, a great gift to your nation.”

This was a time for individuals to give back to their local Catholic school. By leveraging social media, this national day of philanthropy and camaraderie invited all people, across the country, who have been impacted by Catholic school education in ways big and small to financially donate at a local level.
