WAYNEDALE FOUNTAIN ON LIST FOR IMPROVEMENT – Message From The Mayor
I recently joined Parks & Recreation Director Al Moll to provide an update on the 2016 capital improvement projects in our parks and facilities operated by the Parks & Recreation Department.
Over 60 projects were started and completed in 2016 and more than 30 projects are still in progress. In total, the City of Fort Wayne invested close to $3 million in Parks & Recreation Department improvements in 2016.
Some highlights of the completed 2016 projects:
Packard Park
Ball Diamond and Sidewalk
Foster Park Volleyball Crt.
Indian Village Park
Sidewalk Improvement
Waynedale Park
Drinking Fountain
We’ll continue to invest in the Parks & Recreation Department with $5 million in projects slated for 2017.
Fort Wayne is a recognized leader in providing quality of life amenities because of our commitment to investing in parks. I continue to be encouraged by the positive momentum and excitement we’re experiencing in our City. We’re fortunate to be in a community that values and appreciates the importance of maintaining our parks. Collectively, we’re making a meaningful and lasting impact.
