TINCAPS- FARMERS’ MARKET

This past weekend while attending the “Walk for Cancer” which took place at the TinCaps Stadium, I had the opportunity to enter into the downtown “Farmers’ Market” which is also inside the warm confides of the TinCaps lower level of the parking garage. If you have never gone to the market, take an hour of your valuable time to give it a try. The Market is open every first and third Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm and parking is no problem…just park anywhere, it’s Saturday. No need for parking meters, Lincoln Life lots are all empty, even the TinCaps lot (Silver Lot) is unmonitored (unless there is an event).

Items to look for at the market include fresh produce, herbs and teas and coffees, home-grown honey and maple syrup, popcorn, fudge, cookies, cupcakes, jams, local wine, soaps, bakery goods and jewelry-all displayed in a very organized manner.

The Market is conveniently held inside the well-lit, warm area connected to the parking garage and easily accessed via any open gate into the stadium. Once inside the stadium just look to the East where you will see the seats high above the parking garage; the Farmers’ Market is located just below that area.

Directions for best parking (because there are many one-way streets) is to Harrison to Douglas to Brackenridge and around. Park at the first available spot on that route or use any parking lot except behind the federal building…they’re touchy about their lot and you may get towed away.
