RED NOSES IN WAYNEDALE

Red Nose Day WalgreensRed Nose Day has been celebrated in the United Kingdom for more than 25 years and encourages people to do red noses and have a good laugh for a good cause. As the starting point for the “first” Red Nose Day in the United States, Walgreens raised funds for the Red Nose Day Fund, which supported non-profit organizations that helps lift children and young people out of poverty in the U.S. and overseas.

As the exclusive retail partner for Red Nose Day, Walgreens made getting involved in this fun-fueled campaign easy and convenient. From April 17 through May 30, Walgreens and Duane Reade, locations nationwide, sold red noses for $1 each, with proceeds contributed to the Red Nose Day Fund.

Red Nose Day was a success!

Walgreens raised millions of dollars with your help. Here are some of the charities that benefited from your support: Boys and Girls Club of America, Childrens Health Fund, Feeding America, L.I.F.T., Charity: Water, G.A.V.I., The Global Fund, Oxfan America and Save The Children.

Walgreens in Waynedale not only sold tickets to employees for a pie in the face contest, but their employees flared up with red clothing, hair and accessories to help promote the Red Nose sales. They also had a guess how many jar-which allowed customers to make a donation, then enter their guess.

All of this in hopes to raise awareness for the 2nd annual Red Nose Day in 2016 which they hope will become even bigger.
