ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH VBS DAYCAMP

We will be having our annual Vacation Bible School Daycamp from June 16th to June 20th. This is no ordinary VBS. Our daycamp is led by actual camp counselors from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Indiana-Kentucky. Children get the experience of camp right here at our church! This will be our 5th year to have the Luther Road counselors lead our Vacation Bible School. These young adult Christian counselors are highly enthusiastic and keep the children interested in everything they do. Each morning starts with songs and skits to get the energy going and it continues right to the end of the day. We are always amazed at the bond that is formed between the counselors and the children while they share their faith with camp games, crafts and Bible study in a kid-friendly way.
This year’s theme is Living In God’s Time. Each day will focus on a different church season. Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost. Through the Bible lessons and activities the children will learn to put their hope and faith in Jesus and the importance of spreading the Good News to everyone.
We have a few special events planned for the children this year. Wednesday is Water Day. After lunch, they will change into their swimsuits and have water games out on the side lawn. There will also be a Parent’s Night on Thursday evening when the children show the parents what they have done that week. Some children sing, some put on skits and some show pictures or crafts.  
Our week will start with a VBS Kickoff on Sunday, June 15th at 6pm. This is a time that the children can meet the counselors and other teen helpers with their parents. This is especially helpful for any shy or “not so sure about going” children. There will be hot dogs, chips and ice cream.
VBS will be 9am – 4pm on Monday through Thursday and 9am – noon on Friday. It is open to all children entering Preschool to 6th grade in the fall. The preschool/kindergarten class will have opening and closing time with the older children but will have lessons, crafts, and activities on their own. They will participate in Water Day and Parent’s Night with everyone else. Preschool children must be potty trained.
VBS Daycamp is FREE for all children! They will each receive a camp t-shirt and age appropriate Bible. Also, lunch and snacks are provided at no cost to you. The Lutheran Foundation has generously given us a grant to pay all expenses for your children to attend.
