Jason Baker, punter and 12-year NFL veteran, announced plans for the 2012 Pro Football Mini Camp to be held May 19-20 at Wayne High School and Concordia High School. All current 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are attending middle school in the Fort Wayne area are eligible to attend. It was also announced that this year, those wishing to participate may register at the following YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne locations: Renaissance Pointe, Jorgensen Family, Parkview Family and Central Branch. There is no cost to attend, however, each player will participate in a community service project to help pay for the camp. Registration is limited to the first 150 participants per site.
“I am excited about this year’s Mini Camp and the opportunity it offers kids in the Fort Wayne area,” said Baker. “As those who have attended before will tell you, it’s about much more than just learning to block and tackle — it’s about teaching kids teamwork, self-confidence, personal responsibility and community spirit.”
