SWEEEET FIRST DAY OF SUMMER
In April, Dairy Queen customers were asked to create videos combining their love for the DQ brand with a “mini TREATment” to submit online at DQ.com/mini. Dairy Queen officials judged all video submissions on content and creativity and posted the top 24 to the DQ Facebook page to allow fans to vote for their favorites. The six video entries that received the most fan votes during a two-week period in May were selected to win the ultimate mini Blizzard TREATment—a new Mini Coooper countryman from Dairy Queen.
Robbie Sondag, one of six people across the country, was selected as a winner in the Dairy Queen system’s Mini Blizzard TREATment online video contest.
On the first day of summer, Tuesday, June 21st, Robbie received his prize—a new Mini Cooper Countryman car courtesy of Dairy Queen as part of the promotion for fans to submit creative videos featuring a “mini TREATment” which focused on spreading smiles and stories in local communities throughout the United States.
Roy Terry, Dairy Queen operator, presented the keys to Robbie. Robbie Sontag, along with his family, accepted the Mini Cooper at the Waynedale Dairy Queen restaurant, 501 Lower Huntington Road.
Sondag’s winning video, entitled One Good Deed Deserves Another, focused on him seeking to do nice deeds for unsuspecting people by giving them a Mini Blizzard Treat to enjoy. He is comically unsuccessful in his attempts until his wife surprises him with two Mini Blizzard Treats for the two of them to enjoy together.
