RESERVATION CALL CENTER NOW OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK

Campers and picnickers who want to reserve a campsite, picnic shelter, recreation building or cabin at DNR state parks or reservoirs, (Starve Hollow State Forest or Deam Lake State Recreation Area) will be able to take advantage of phone reservation service seven days a week, year round, starting November 4, 2010.

The new hours of service will be Nov. 4, 2010–April 26, 2011, Monday–Friday, noon through 4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon–3 p.m. Hours during the recreation season next year, April 27- Nov. 2, 2011, will be noon–8 p.m., Monday– Friday; Saturday–Sunday, noon–3 p.m. The call center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Previously, depending on the time of year, phone reservation service was available only five or six days a week. The change provides better customer service and allows customers the ability to speak to a live person seven days per week if they need help with making, transferring or canceling reservations.

The phone number remains the same, 1-866-6CAMPIN (1- 866-622-6746). Online reservations can be made 24 hours a day at Camp.IN.gov.

Those who will be in Indianapolis for the 61st annual Christmas, Gift & Hobby Show on Nov. 10-14 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds-West Pavilion can score extra saving by purchasing the show-exclusive $45 holiday package. SHOPPING AT SALAMONIE RESERVOIR’S INTERPRETIVE CENTER

Complete your holiday shopping at Salamonie Reservoir’s interpretive center.

Get your annual entrance passes, lake permits, and annual horse tags. All are now available for 2011. Browse through souvenirs, shirts, field guides, hiking sticks, nature toys, jewelry, home décor and much more. The Interpretive Center will be open every day, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day this season. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
