Dennis E. Hensley Ph.D.

Dennis E. Hensley Ph.D.Dr. Dennis E. Hensley is chairman of the Department of Professional Writing at Taylor University, where he holds the rank of full professor. He holds four degrees in communications, including a Ph.D. in English from Ball State University.

He is the author of 58 books and more than 3,500 published articles, interviews, short stories, devotions, reviews, and features.

He served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was awarded six medals for service in Vietnam.

He and his wife Rose have been married for 43 years and have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Dr. Hensley is a recipient of the Indiana University Award for Teaching Excellence, the Dorothy Hamilton Memorial Writing Award, the Fort Wayne Bicentennial Gold Medallion, and the Elisabeth Sherrill Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing and Speaking.
