UPDATED LUERS’ STATS

This week’s games were exciting, and the boy’s won two more games to run their record to 17-3. They won their last home game to Blackhawk Christian, a team that will very likely make a run at the Class 1A State Championship. The 2nd game was a real quality win at Warsaw, a team that had just recently beat a Marion squad that also has a good shot at the 4A State Championship. We trailed most of the 1st half but played a solid 3rd and 4th quarters to win going away in spite of a rally by Warsaw that made the game very interesting for much of the last quarter. We made big-time free throws to keep control of the game!

On a sad note, the girls’ lost a heartbreaker in the championship of the Regional to an unbeaten Oak Hill Team 51-43 to end their season. They came back from a 15-point deficit in the 3rd quarter to actually tie the game twice in the 4th quarter but failed to score after the last tie at 43. Nevertheless, they showed great heart and made the Luer’s faithful very proud even in defeat. They won the afternoon game over North Miami 69-58 to reach the night game. Their season ended at 16-8 after playing one of their toughest schedules ever, AND playing without their All-State point guard all season who injured her knee in pre-season and required season-ending surgery and missing her entire Senior year.
