The Public Service Credit Union in Waynedale is celebrating its 75th anniversary this spring. The credit union opened on April 4, 1932 and originally served as a credit union only for NIPSCO employees and their families. They soon began to expand their coverage, eventually serving a small portion of the Waynedale area. Within the last two years Public Service Credit Union has expanded even more and is now a community charter. This means that anyone who lives or works in Allen County can become a member. The Waynedale branch is one of two Public Service Credit Union branches in Fort Wayne. The other is located on Reckeweg Road off of Highway 14.

The Waynedale branch expansion not only allowed the company to serve more of the Fort Wayne area, but also to grow in services. They now offer indirect lending through a number of local car dealerships and have also been able to purchase new computer equipment to better serve their members. The branch’s current promotion is called, “Get Your Green” and offers cash back when you sign up for a loan as well as 90 days with no payments on your loan. For more information about the services or the current promotion, call 747-0564 or visit one of the friendly staff members at 7017 Old Trail Road.
