NAELA HAS ANNOUNCED THAT JAMES E. SPRINGER HAS ATTENDED THE JOINT CONFERENCE OF THE NAELA

The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) has announced that James E. Springer of James E. Springer, P.C. has attended the Joint Conference of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCIvI) held in Tucson, AZ, December 8 – 11, 2005.

 

Some of the highlights of the NAELA and GCM Joint Conference, which was titled “Jazz It Up with Southwestern Spice,” included:

•George J. Felos, Esq., Attorney for Michael Schiavo, presented the opening keynote session titled “Schiavo – Reflections and Implications: Did Personal Choice Triumph or Was Individual Liberty Eroded in the Schiavo Case?”

•Bridgett Taylor, U.S. House of Representatives, presented a general session titled “A Perspective from the Hill: Medicaid Budget Reconciliation and What it All Means.”

•Sessions on: “Professionalism & Ethics Luncheon: Application of the Aspirational Standards in the Real World Elder Law Practice,”

 

“Alzheimer’s Disease and Non-Alzheimer Dementias: Understanding the Trajectory of Cognitive Impairment,” “Capacity, Competence and Self-Determination: Legal, Medical and Care Management Perspectives” and more.

Established in 1987, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) is a non-profit association that assists lawyers, bar organizations and others who work with older clients and their families. Members of NAELA are attorneys who are experienced and trained in working with the legal problems of aging Americans and individuals of all ages with disabilities. The mission of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys is to establish NAELA members as the premier providers of legal advocacy, guidance and services to enhance the lives of seniors and people with disabilities. NAELA currently has more than 4,900 members across the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.
