TUITION COSTS
A university education can be an expensive proposition. But it doesn’t have to be. USF has one of the lowest tuition costs of any private school in Indiana.
In an effort to assist all students, the university offers many different types of scholarships, grants, and other financial assistance programs. Many adult students choose to take advantage of the tuition assistance program at their place of employment. The university supports the idea of employer reimbursement programs and demonstrates this by offering deferred payment of fees until the completion of the semester.

HOMESTEAD HIGH SCHOOL
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERT SERIES EXPANDS WITH FIRST-EVER EVENT AT HHS
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the finest professional orchestra in the area, will be performing its premiere Neighborhood partnership concert with students from Homestead High School on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:30pm at the school, 4301 Homestead Road.
Orchestral students taught by Brad Wadkins will play side-by-side with Philharmonic musicians under the direction of David B. Cooke. Selections to be performed include Haydn’s Symphony No. 4 in D Major “LONDON”, as well as works by Holst and Brahms. This concert is part of an on-going series of Neighborhood Concerts presented by the Philharmonic in collaboration with area high schools. The concert is free and open to the public as part of the Southwest Allen County Music Boosters Orchestra Appreciation Night.
BISHOP LUERS HIGH SCHOOL
“LUERS LOOT” – Spring-Cleaning? Save all your loot for Luers’ Rummage sale that will be held Saturday, June 8 from 9am to 2pm. Bag Sale beginning at 1pm. The sale will be held at BLHS. We need donations for the sale – drop off dates are all Saturdays in May from 8am to 10am and June 3rd thru 6th from 4pm to 8pm. To arrange for large item pick-ups call Brian & Diana Smith at 436-3943. We also need volunteers.
KEKIONGA MIDDLE SCHOOL END OF YEAR STUDENT AWARD RECOGNITION
Who: 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade
When: Friday, May 31, 2002 – 6th at 8am – 7th at 9:15am – 8th at 1:15pm

KMS ANNUAL CEDAR POINT TRIP
Kekionga’s annual Cedar Point Trip is May 18. This year’s trip is on a Saturday. Cost is $50. This cost covers the bus ride and your ticket into the park. The bus will leave Kekionga Middle School at 5am on May 18 and will return to Kekionga at 9:30pm. Four buses have been ordered so as many students who are eligible may participate. Any student who is on the ineligibility list or who is on a probationary contract with the school may not attend. Please see Mrs. Yates if you have questions regarding this trip.
KMS SPRING TRIP
For the last fourteen years Kekionga has taken a trip in the spring of the year. We have always gone to Washington D.C. or New York City. This year we are going to Orlando, Florida (Disney World). Twenty-three students have registered and seventeen are paid in full. We will leave on Sunday, June 2 and return on Saturday, June 8. We will visit Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and MGM studios.
CANTEBURY HIGH SCHOOL CHS SOPHOMORE CLASS FRAMES 3rd HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOME IN 2002
On Friday, May 3rd the sophomore class of CHS framed the 3rd Habitat for Humanity home of 2002. Sixty-two students gathered at 2309 25th Avenue with hammers in hand to construct the future home of the Sergey and Olga Severenchuk family.
CHS has developed a program for both sophomore and junior students, which requires that they complete 40 hours of community service. This sophomore class project, which is taking the place of a class trip, is designed to introduce the class to the fun and rewarding aspects of community service.
Rita Hayes, Karen Smith, and Kathy Warr, sophomore class parent representatives, assisted with the project. Rita Hayes said that she has been involved with Habitat for Humanity on several builds, and that it is her hope that the project will help the students bond as a class and give them an opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills.
The Severenchuk family, Sergey, Olga, and their six children are immigrants from Latvia. They filled out an application with Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity in November of 2001, received Board approval in March of 2002 and immediately began an intense effort to accumulate the 300 Sweat Equity Hours (volunteer labor) they needed to qualify for their own home. In record time, they have earned all but the last 25 of those hours, which Habitat requires them to earn on their own home.
The Severenchuk home will be a 4-bedroom, 2-bath home because of the size of the family. As with other Habitat homes, it will be built on a slab and without a garage. Once the home is built and the family has completed their required classes, the home will be sold to them without profit and on a 20-year, no-interest loan.
