STUDENTS ADVANCE TO STATE SOLO AND ENSEMBLE CONTEST
On January 28, several Bishop Luers’ students participated at the Indiana State School Music Association (I.S.S.M.A.) District Solo and Ensemble contest for winds, strings and percussion, hosted by Wayne High School.
Jessica Georgi received a Gold rating on a Group 2 Trumpet solo
Mandi Lazzaro received a Gold rating on a Group 2 Xylophone solo
Veronica Baker received a Gold rating on a Group 1 Violin solo, and earned the opportunity to compete at the I.S.S.M.A. State Solo and Ensemble contest in Indianapolis on Feb. 25.
Also, the Bishop Luers Percussion Ensemble earned the opportunity to participate in the State Contest level by receiving a Gold‑rating on a Group 1 piece. The members of the ensemble are Greg Bauman, Kevin Jeong, Mandi Lazzaro, Chris Teeters, B.J. Rorick and Pat Kruze.
The following students placed “first” at the‑Indiana State Solo and Ensemble Regional Music Competition at Wayne High School and are eligible to go on to State on February 25, 2006.
