SPREADING WARMTH WITH HOLIDAY DONATIONS
On a cold, Thursday afternoon, students from New Tech Academy at Wayne High School visited the FWCS Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Avenue, where they donated $1,252 to the FWCS Clothing Bank. The FWCS Clothing Bank is available for any FWCS student in need of items such as clothes, shoes, toiletries and more. The Clothing Bank has been in operation since the 1980s.
These students raised the money earlier this fall for a fellow classmate-Reagan Swinford-who is fighting cancer-for the fourth time. To assist her with her expenses they designed and sold t-shirts with the logo “Reagan Strong.” Kara Gerber and Leslie Alter assisted in designing the t-shirts.
However, Reagan decided to give her money instead to others in need.
After visiting FWCS Family Center, the New Tech Academy students traveled to the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Regional Medical Center and dropped off a second monetary donation of $1,252 on Thursday, December 14.
